On a walk
"Do I actually want the new job, or just a change?"
Phone in your pocket, thumb on the screen, eyes on the path.
Thalk is an iPhone app for thinking something through with AI, hands-free and eyes-free. With headphones on, the AI asks a short question out loud. You answer with one thumb on a wheel. After a few rounds you get a short spoken summary and one next step.
"What's pulling you toward moving?" No typing. No reading. No talking out loud unless you want to.
Each round the AI asks one question of twenty words or fewer and offers four short answers. The wheel below is the real gesture. Try it.
The AI asks out loud, in a voice you picked. Short, one question at a time, in plain English.
Press anywhere on the screen, then slide your thumb up, right, down or left to hear that answer. You never have to look.
Release on an answer to pick it. Release in the middle to cancel. Drag all the way down to answer in your own words, spoken or typed.
After five to fifteen rounds the AI reads back what you figured out and gives you one next step. It is saved to your history and can be exported as text.
Holding still never triggers anything. No hold-to-talk, no long press. People hold while they think, so Thalk waits with you.
What's pulling you toward moving?
Interactive demo of the Thalk wheel. On touch or with a mouse: press anywhere on the wheel, drag toward the top, right, bottom or left answer, and release to choose. With the keyboard: use the arrow keys to hear an answer, press Enter to choose it, press Escape to cancel, and press the Down arrow twice to reach the own-answer zone.
Press anywhere, then slide
Pick a date to decide by, and look at three flats before then.
In the app, all of this is spoken. Nothing to read.
Thalk is for the thinking you'd normally do in your head, going round in circles. Put your headphones in and let the questions do the work.
"Do I actually want the new job, or just a change?"
Phone in your pocket, thumb on the screen, eyes on the path.
"What's really bothering me about Sunday?"
No signal needed to think. The next question is already loaded.
"What would make tomorrow easier?"
Screen off, lights off. Four quiet options and a next step before you sleep.
When nothing fits, drag down and say it in your own words, or type it. Thalk keeps these, so next time one of the four options might be something you once said.
Thalk keeps a small set of facts about you and a note on how you speak, so the questions get sharper over time. You can read, edit and delete all of it in Settings.
Each day Thalk suggests a few things worth thinking about, with a one-line reason. Or make your own topic, pin it, and start without looking.

No. Most of the time you answer by sliding your thumb. Speaking is only for your own answer, and even then you can choose to type instead, in Settings.
No. The question and all four answers are spoken. You hear an answer when your thumb reaches it and a small haptic tick confirms it. Many people use Thalk with the phone in a pocket.
Thalk needs a connection to generate each question, but it saves your progress if you drop off and picks up where you were when you're back. Spoken audio is loaded one round at a time, so short gaps go unnoticed.
A short profile, up to fifty facts you've told it, a note on how you speak and your recent own answers. You can read and delete every item in Settings, export everything as text, or delete your account. See the privacy policy.
Thalk sends each round to a couple of language models at once and uses the first good answer, so the wait is short. Voices come from a text-to-speech provider. None of them train on your conversations. The full list is in the privacy policy.
No. Thalk is a thinking tool, not a medical or mental-health service, and it won't give medical, legal or financial advice. If you're struggling, please talk to a person you trust or a professional.
Not yet. Thalk is iPhone only and English only for now.
